Go to your network configuration and enter the original IP as static:
/etc/sysconfig/network (do this as root)
Verify the IP again (it should show original IP):
/sbin/ifconfig
Restart services.
Now see if http://linux.server:8000 is working from host.
If not then try calling the login page using the IP address directly
http://192.168.1.10:8000 (replace this IP with your IP).
If the page is coming up now, then it means your Windows host file has an issue.
If the page is showing "not found" error then trying pining your guest IP from host.
Start->cmd->ping 192.168.1.10
If you are able to ping then your services are not coming up properly. (restart services, take a look at logs of failed services)
If you are unable to ping then you have network issue on Linux. (change the MAC address of virtual machine).
