I have gone through all the videos on 25 - Oracle E-Business Suite Interfaces - INT with a great interest.

During the launch of the Journal Import program from GL environment, I noticed there are options to import Descriptive Flexfields or Not, With Validation or Without Validation to the journals entries.

I understand that Functional Consultants, for the purpose of Data Migration, would provide a document (MD50, if using AIM) specifying a staging Table structure, with the mandatory columns and or without the NULL columns. The staging Table being mirrored on the Interface Table to be used.

I also understood that any NULL columns specified will appear on the journal entries line side, not at the Batch level, nor at the Header level.

1) Please, could you give me an example of a business scenario which may require the capture of Descriptive Flexfields during the Journal Import process.

2) Do I have to address the Descriptive Flexfields, if any, while specifying the Staging Table structure with its columns, from which to upload the data into the Interface, how to go about doing it.
