FSG report sets are not opened in Excel 10 Years, 11 Months ago

I have created a FSG report set and kept the output option as Spreadsheet. But when I run the set and open the output from request window, it is opened in Text format and not in Excel.Please help

That is normal functionality.
You need to use Report Manager to open FSG reports in Excel sheet.

But if I change the output option to XMLA, it gets opened up in XML. So the issue is only with Spreadsheet?

This XML output becomes a feed to the XML Publisher. However when you say the output opens up in XML, it is still opening in the browser but the text is now in XML format. By changing the option to Excel will not open the report in Excel. As far as I know this is standard functionality. You need to utilize Report Manager or FSG Publisher.
Another way of opening FSG report into Excel, other than Report Manager, is by running Publish FSG report program.

But if output is going to be in text, then why do we have a setup option for Spreadsheet. That is very misleading rite
|
