RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
While installing Rapidwiz, I got all the messages green except for the file size, which I got a warning. The message shows as "
RW-20013: Error: - Not enough free disk space on system. How could this be resolved?

Your hard disk does not have enough space.
See if you can create some space by deleting unwanted files.
Choose production install as oppose to vision install. Vision install takes way more space.

Thanks for the response.Couple of questions. Could you please clarify, which hard disk are you referring to? My host machine harddisk capacity is 250 GB. I still have 167 GB still free. In the VM, I allocated 150 GB as you had mentioned. So, could you please clarify. If i need to increase space to the VM, how can I increase the apce.

That looks like good enough space.
Did you select vision install or production install?

Re:RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
I used the production install (Fresh Database). For installation, I have been following the installation procedures very religiously, without much deviation from what has been prescribed here.
But the R12 download from Oracle had some extra files totaling to 51 files. I do not know, what that created the space issue?

Oracle keeps on updating their software. That is why the number of files differ.
Please copy paste the log file here.
The log file would explain what exactly is the problem.
Definitely it is an space issue but I dont know what is causing this problem.

Apparently you are running short of disk space. Solution: Make some space.
Have you deleted unwanted files from your host system all along?
Like ISO file and downloaded files etc?
What is the fee space available on your host system hard disk?

Re:RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
Yes, I have been deleting unwanted files from the host system all along, as I had mentioned before, and I do not have any unwanted files in my hard disk. I have the required configuration, which you had prescribed in your tutorials.
My disk space in the drive which I'm installing the VM is 250 GB.
Current scenario:
used space: 81.6 GB
Free Space: 171 GB
Also I had alloted 150 GB space to VM as you had mentioned.

Re:RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
You need only 73GB free space to
install production system according to
12.1.1 documentation.

You have 84GB available.

actual = 84387.0546875

Could you please verify the disk space requirement
for the version you have downloaded.
Look for "installation guide" under documentation DVD.
I want to rule out the possibility that Oracle has
changed their space requirement. Let me know please.

Any one else faced this issue?

Re:RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
I checked in the installation guide: Using Rapid Install
Release 12.1 (12.1.1).
It says The total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database.

Is the 85GB free space(for fresh install) inside the Linux or is it on the host machine?

My host machine has 166 GB free space. I allocated 150 GB for the VM while insalling. But when I check the Oracle's home folder in Linux, it says Free Space:82.4 GB.
These are details of the home folder in Linux:
Location: /home
Volume: Root volume
Free Space: 82.4 GB

The installtion guide says 85 GB free space, and I have only 82.5 GB for the Oracle home folder. Is that the reason for the space error. if so, how can i increase the space. Is there a way? Could you please let me know?

Re:RW-20013: Error While installing Oracle 14 Years, 2 Months ago
Deep Kumar,

You have about 84 GB available in your Linux OS.
You need 85 GB as indicated by Oracle Documentation.
At the time of my video making, Oracle needed 73 GB. Oracle Corporation keep on updating the software that is available for download on edelivery website. I will update my videos to reflect this change.

That explains the problem.

You have two options:

1) Since you are short by few KBs, see if you can delete some files from Linux. Try removing unwanted software if you have any. See if your stage has anything that you can delete. For example you do not need documentation CDs etc in your stage.
2) A cleaner way of proceeding further is to rebuilt your Linux from scratch. Delete the VM. Recreate it with 160GB or 170GB rather than 150GB as indicated by videos (I will update videos to reflect the increased requirements). Reinstall Linux. Unzip ISO. Run rapid wiz.

If you like you can try these steps to increase the size of your virtual disk.
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Increase-VMware-Hard-Disk-Space

However as I said, the cleaner way of doing this is to rebuilt the machine with increased hard disk space.
