GL Flexfield vs Accounting Flexfield 11 Years, 10 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

In your GL video you talk about Accounting Flexfield. However there is some other flexfield called GL Flexfield in R12.

What is this GL Flexfield and how does it differ from the Accounting Flexfield ?

Thank-you
Hopefully, your explaination will clear up this confusion.

Thanks again
Charlie

The GL Ledger Flexfield is a mirror image of the GL Accounting Flexfield with one additional segment: Ledger. It is maintained automatically by the system and is for internal use only. You should not be touching it in any case. It is used for certain GL features such as Mass Allocations, Recurring Journals and FSG Reports. Mostly it is used for looping through the ledgers. This flexfield is created automatically when the corresponding GL chart of accounts gets compiled.
