Hi,

I need help opening the first GL period. When I try to open relevant GL period in GL open/close window (in GL->setups->open/close)Ledger doesent show the created ledger.

I have a fresh installation and I am a first time user of Oracle. Please advice.

Please go to the System Profiles screen in System Administrator
and query the profile option GL: Data Access Set for your responsibility.
Do you see your ledger name there? Please confirm.
Upload the screen shot if possible. Thanks.

I have done the above and the screen shots are attached. Please advice the way forward.

Your Data Access Set assignment to the responsbility looks good.
It could be something wrong with your ledger setup. I am not sure at this point.
If you can upload screen shots of your Data Access Set and also for your Ledger Setup (Accounting Setup screen) I might be able to spot something.

Hi Hasan,

As requested I have attched the screen shots of ledger setup and other setup screens. Please advise. I have gone through all your tutorails agin under the general Ledger from video 15 to video 26 but still could not figure out the issue. Please advice.

Your ledger setup looks good too.
Looks like data access set was properly created for this ledger.
This data access set is assigned to the responsibility.
I cannot pin point an obvious issue. The chain seems to be setup ok.
If you tell me what you do see in the Ledger field on Enter Journal screen. That would give a clue if ledger is properly connected to the responsibility or not.
Also if you can upload the shot of the screen with the real error message, that could give a clue. I dont see full error message in your post.
Next step would be to create our own data access set and see if that fixed the problem.
