Inventor organization mandatory in financial optio 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

While following this exercise, inventory organization is mandatory in financial option screen. I though of creating an inventory organization for that but while creating the inventory org, I stuck in another issue. My operating unit is not appearing in the list of values. I cannot query from Operating from core application form. Moreover I can see that my inventory org record has been saved on the form but from back-end, I am not able to see any record in org_organization_definition table. I am not using vision instance.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks for your help !!

Cheers
Vijay

I have replied to your post earlier in the other thread. Here is the reply again:

Please follow the steps given in the attached file and proceed further. This is a dummy organization. If you wish to create a proper inventory organization then you can follow my Purchasing videos.
If you are able to save the work then I dont see any issues at this point. Simply move forward. Go to Financial Options and see if the inventory organization is appearing in the list of values. If not then we have an issue, otherwise we are good.

Hi Hasan,

I am using fresh installation. I have read other thread where you discussed about this. Please don't disregard this just because you have discussed it earlier.I am completely stuck. Please let me know what I am doing wrong.
While creating financial options in AP I cannot save the form. The system is asking to enter Inventory Organization in supplier tab.
I tried to create a dummy inventory organization first but cannot see the operating unit in my lov (Image is attached) .I tried to create inventory organization through Inventory responsibility as in your Purchasing module video but again cannot see operating unit in my LOV.
The system is giving me the following message. I am also attaching screen shots.

"APP-FND-01436: List of Values cannot find any values for you to choose

Cause: The List of Values execution failed to find any values.

Cause: The SQL statement specified to fdlfch() failed to return any values.

Action: Check the message stack for any SQL statement failure messages. Check to make sure your SQL statement works in SQL*Plus. (ROUTINE=fdlfch)"
No entries found for List of Values

Please recompile your chart of account structure in GL.
Run the program Program - Generate Ledger Flexfield
This will rule out any validation related issues.

Try again and please upload the error message image. Thanks.

Hi Hasan,
I have recompiled my COA in GL and also run the program Program-Generate Ledger Flexfield. Everything went fine. I did not receive any error message. I am sorry I forgot to attach the screen shots in my previous post. I am attaching screen shots file for review. As I mentioned, While creating financial options in AP I cannot save the form, the system is asking to enter Inventory Organization in supplier tab. I also tried creating inventory organization through inventory responsibility as mentioned in your purchase module. When entering the inventory information the system is asking to enter the calendar, it is not greyed out. I have seen your video it is greyed out and you don’t have to enter a calendar.
Thanks

Hamnaabeer, Looks like your post was missed to be anwered. Sorry about that.

This topic has been discovered various times.
Here is the solution:

Looks like in your instance Purchasing application is marked as license that is why Payables is asking you to provide Inventory Organization. This field becomes mandatory if Purchasing is marked as installed otherwise this field is optional. I hope you are not using Vision instance cause you will experience more issues down the line. Fresh installed is preferred for the best learning of how to setup from scratch.
Now you have two choices. You can quick create a dummy inventory organization and attach to this field. The steps are shown in the attached document.
You can go through the starting videos of Purchasing and create a proper inventory organization.
You can go with option 1 to keep things simple. That way will first learn Payables functionality before going into Purchasing.
Here are steps to create dummy inventory organization: http://handsonerp.com/images/fbfiles/files/creating_default_inventory_organization-4e92f3ff420df4debe5b82e2f33486f0.zip
