Hi everyone, i need help ASAP. have just install, Oracle R12.1.1 on windows 7 via VMware and enterprise linux 4.8. the installtion went well after alot of fighting but at the end everything went sweet. the problem now is I CAN'T CONNECT TO INTERNET TO RUN THE ORACLE APPLICATION EACH TIME MY VM is running, the only connection is from the VM. just like it takes control of the system. Please help

Let me try to understand the issue.

Can you ping your linux server (running on virtual machine) from your host computer.

ping 192.168.1.x (use the ip of your linux server)

or perhaps your problem is that you cannot use internet any more from the host computer (Windows) when the VM is up?

yes i did that just as you said on the lesson video but still has same problem. the ip is 192.168.1.68. but the funny part is this is the same ip as my wireless network

yes that is the problem, i can use internet anymore from the host computer when VM is up. THAT IS IT. HELP

ok, it gotta be network settings of your virtual machine. can you please upload a screen shot of your VM network settings.

how can you say the ip of your linux machine is the same as router?
192.168.1.68 does not look like a router ip address. router's ip address is more like this 192.168.1.1
Also looks like a dynamic ip is being generated for your linux machine. It should be static like 192.168.1.10. You put a static ip address in your linux network configuration. That is another issue. Lets first focus on your original issue.

Good to know. If all is working fine then take a snapshot of your virtual machine so that you could rollback if need be.
