Having EBS login problem 12 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi,

I had installed EBS in my Laptop following your videos and it worked fine. BuT I tried to login after sometime and now I am unable to login - getting a message saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

I had started the database and the listener without problem but ran into status 4 when I tried running the script ./adstrtal.sh apps/apps
I have got the log file - the path is shown below
/home/arun/PROD/inst/apps/PROD_linux/logs/appl/admin/log/adstrtal.log. Screenshots of the log file is attached.
It seems that it tried to starting OPMN managed OAFM OC4J instance,OACORE OC4J instance,HTTP server(OHS) but failed.

What should I do to fix the problem? Need your help urgently.

Thanks,

Arun

Hi Hasan,

I just want to add that I was able to start all the services but still I am unable to log in to EBS. I get a message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when I try to login. When I try to diagonose the connection problem windows gives me a message " Windows confirmed that "Linux.Server" is currently Online but is not responding to connection attempts at this time. I have tried logging in after stopping the windows firewall and the Macafee firewall that I have but even then I get the same message. I have looked into the Linux Server and it does not have the firewall turned on either. Also, I have successfully pinged the server from windows.
Please let me know how I can solve this issue.
Thanks,
Arun

Most likely the IP address of the VM has changed.
Sometimes changing of IP throw off services like Apache.
Put the same IP back.
Start network configuration utility as root
/etc/sysconfig/network
Put the original IP address as static.
(Take a screen shot of the configuration and upload if possible.)
This should fix the errors that you get while starting services.
Otherwise we will run more tests.

Sorry for the late reply. Your snapshots show that your IP address is set at static. Which is good.
Try one more thing. Otherwise we will need to look into your log files.
Restart your virtual machine.
Now start all services
./adstrtal.sh apps/apps
Stop all services
./adstpall.sh apps/apps
Now restart services again.
./adstrtal.sh apps/apps
See if that fixes the issue. I have seen starting, stopping, and restarting services fixes these issues at slower machines.
Next we need to look into log files. Let me know which services are not starting with status 0 when run the adstrtal.sh the second time.

I had a similar issue this morning.

I googled a little for the solution and i found one that worked for me.
Open the terminal.
Stop all services.
Remove these 3 files.
$ rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/oacore/persistence/*
$ rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/oafm/persistence/*
$ rm -fr $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/forms/persistence/
type in # adopmnctl.sh start
Restart all services.
