FSG with 27 Columns 13 Years ago
Hi,

I am having an FSG with 27 columns. How should I handle this. Try to do that with Build set but could not.
I am tried to do it through the create heading manually. It is working but sometimes creating some weird results.
How should I prevent all that - like I have now 1 coulmn without a value - the 18th coulmn for no reason. Also
do I still need to have the Build Column set that I had done initially or can I delete them? Is that causing the problem.
Arun

The Column Set Builder has a limitation of 20 columns.
Regardless of this you can still create an FSG report with more
than 20 columns using Define Columns form.
To be able to view the headings after the 20th column you will need to manually add those columns using the Column Heading Screen.

Follow the steps below:

1. Using a GL responsibility go to Reports > Define > Column Set
2. Query on the column set
3. Click on the Create Heading button
4. Manually type in missing last part of the header line (corresponding to the columns after the 20th)
Apply->OK.
5. Re run the FSG report.

Hello Hasan,

Thank you very much for your response. Your site is the most useful site. I am indebted to you for providing such useful information with such clarity and depth in video format. It cannot get any better - seriously.
I had already created the coulmn set through Column Set builder and then I could not go beyond the 20 columns. Then I created the whole thing in the notepad and copy pasted the entire 27 columns in the create heading tab after deleting whatever was existing there. My question though is two - first when I always go back and check I see that the last column width in the column builder has increased to 19 from 15(Creates problems with the heading) and also do I actually need these columns in the create column builder, can I not delete them. Second question is how can I add more rows for the column heading.

Thanks,

Arun

I just want to make sure that you understand this: The column set builder simply is another view of the column definitions that you create directly in the column definition screen and vice versa. If you delete a column in the column set builder then that column will be deleted from the column definition screen as well. So I really didn't understand your question properly.
Try creating a report without visiting column set builder. You will have to go through quite a bit of trial and errors to get the report right but that way you will avoid all this column set builder confusion.
See if you can upload the image of your report. That way I can understand better what is going on.
