Internet Explorer 11 and Java HELP!! 9 Years, 4 Months ago
I'm having not having any luck getting Internet explorer 11 to work with this version of Java and EBS. There was one post about this, but the user did not explain how he fixed the issue in his settings, so here I am asking again.

Whenever I try to open an EBS form in Internet Explorer 11, I get a message telling me that I need to update to the latest version of Java. I have tried updating to the latest version and restarting, but it just gives me the same message to update, even though I verified in my control panel that I have the latest version. And yes, I have verified that all previous versions of Java have been uninstalled.

Please help me configure Internet explorer so that I can finally continue on in the training.

Thanks

First of all apologies for the late reply.
If you would have posted the exact error message than that would have helped.
From what it looks like you need to download the latest version of directly and install it. Then try to open Oracle Applications.
Please post the error message and I will try to get the exact solution.
Sorry again for the late reply. I will try to be prompt. Thanks.

Re:Internet Explorer 11 and Java HELP!! 9 Years, 4 Months ago
In Internet Explorer 11, when I try to open a form, I get the message, "Java was blocked because it is out of date and needs to be updated". I got that message when I had version 6, so I updated to the latest version (Version 8) and still got the same message. I have confirmed that all other versions of Java have been removed, and I tested the version on the Java test website. In my last post you mentioned turning off Active X Blocker, but I wasn't sure how to do that.

Another note, I tried to open EBS in Firefox to see if I had better results. In Firefox Java ran, and the Oracle window opened, but then I got the error, "FRM-92095: Oracle JInitiator version too low. Please install version 1.1.8.2 or higher." Shouldn't be using JRE instead of Jinitiator?

Thanks,
Chris

In addition to what I said above, I found this link saying that I may need to install additional patches so that JRE will run?

To me the issue looks like ActiveX is blocking Java.

Out-of-date ActiveX control blocking is turned off in the Local Intranet Zone and Trusted Sites Zone. So the question for you is this:

Is your Oracle url added to the local intranet?

If not then please add that first and see if the problem is fixed.

IE->Internet Options->Security (tab)->Sites(button)->Advanced (button)

Add the url and save the work. Restart IE.

If this does not work then we will move forward.
Thanks

I have done as you said above. Now when I click to open the user form within Oracle, nothing happens. No pages open and I do not get any messages.

Please goto Internet Explorer->Internet Options->Privacy
And verify that "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" option is disabled.
Thanks

Hasan,

This has worked, and I now have Oracle forms working properly. I had to reinstall Java 6.7 on my laptop and restart. Then after making the changes you suggested above, it is working properly.

Thank you for your help with this!
