To increase the memory, simply shutdown your Virtual Machine.
Go to the control panel of the Virtual Box and go to the properties of your virtual machine. Change the memory size. (must be a multiple of 1024 for smooth working).
Restart the virtual machine.

For training purpose, you do not need to scale up the settings. It is not recommended. You do not need the extra power. But if you wish to then before starting the application services go to the same database initialization file as shown in the videos. Undo the two entries that we did. Save the file. Now start the services. Now navigate to manage concurrent managers screen from System Administrator responsibility and simply enable the concurrent managers manually that we disabled through the SQL statement.

I am not sure why your VM is crashing. Either not enough memory is available or some kind of bug is kicking in at high memory.
All I am going to say is that in order to learn Oracle Financials functionality 2GB RAM is enough. If the system is working on that RAM you can go back to that and continue your focus on the main objective.

Re:VM memory allocation 10 Years, 11 Months ago
The problem is that your virtual machine needs 2GB. Nothing will be left for your host computer. At least 3GB is needed on the host system for 2 to 1 split. It will be too tight to run the virtual machine on 1GB RAM. I have done that for 11i. It works. But for R12 you can try but I am not sure how slow the system would be. Some services might not even wake up. Please open a new thread to continue the discussion on this topic. Thanks
