Apply Receipt to Transaction 11 Years, 6 Months ago  
Hello Hasan,

Please see attached doc for details.
.
Unable to apply receipt to the same transaction TWICE.
.
Receipt $500
$200 was applied to Transaction in the AM.
.
$300 is applied to Transaction in the PM.
.
Error mesage appears when applying the 2nd ($300) time to the same Transaction. Why?
.

It is also possible that there is a data corruption in the receipt applications associated to the invoice. Is it happening to all receipts or just this one?

I can apply the FULL receipt amount to a transaction
However,
If I apply 50% if the receipt amount to Transaction #1 and later I apply the other 50% to Transaction #1 then I get this error message.

Yes, this is happening every time I create 1 Transaction and 1 Receipt.
I can fully apply the Receipt to the Transaction.
I can apply 30% of the Receipt to the Transaction, however, later when I try to apply the balance (70%) of the receipt to the same Transaction, I get this error messsage...

"APP-AR-11651" : You have paid the same invoice twice. Please correct.
.
If this has something to do with data corruption, then I don't think I would have received this ERROR message from Oracle.
There's got to be something more to this.

I don't have a metalink Oracle account, so I can't look up this error...
.
Can someone look it up for me, and let me know what it says... AND how to fix the problem. :0

I am attaching a metalink note here. There is only one entry on this topic. I am suspecting a data corruption or perhaps you are doing something wrong from the front end. Data corruption is fixed by applying a patch. Service request has to be opened for that.

I don't have an Oracle account so I can't log a SR.
Unless you have a suggestion to fix this problem, I either ignore this error
OR
Reinstall/Setup AR from the beginning and hope that this time, I don't get this error.
.
I normally create SNAPSHOTS of my enviroment every so often, so I'll restore one of my SNAPSHOTS before I started working with AR.

It all depends on the your objective.
If your main goal is to learn the functional side of things then do not get distracted by these small issues (unless the problems are really in your way). You can ignore minor issues.
Keep in mind that one cannot expect a perfect working system without support from Oracle and without applying patches every now and then and even then the system is not 100% perfect.
See if rolling back to the previous snapshot fixes the issue.

I am curious to know if within your own enviroment that this issue is happening... or is it only my version
REL 12.1.1
.
I'll move on in my learning for now... later I'll go back to a previous snapshot before I started setting up AR.

Just wondering... WHEN we might see some new videos on either PAYALES or RECEIVABLES ?

I dont remember seeing this issue in my environment that is why I am suspecting data corruption at your end.
