Connecting to EBS from windows 11 Years, 9 Months ago
Installation all went fine and I was following your videos to the core. However, it seems like the last video in the "new" installation section is incomplete. The java installation part is missing. I think that might be the issue here. please find attached a screen shot of the error. Help me resolve the issue ASAP. I do have java installed on my windows by the way. Thanks

Videos are all complete. I have shown you how to install java as well.

This problem is either related to your IE XSS settings or the firewall on linux.

Is XSS filtering disabled in your internet explorer options?

IE->Tools->Internet Options->Security->Custom Level->Disable XSS Filter

Thanks a lot Hasan. It was the problem with XSS settings. Now everything is fine.

Re:Connecting to EBS from windows 11 Years, 9 Months ago
I was also having the java issue as well and do not really see the tutorial on installing Java anywhere. Anyways, I searched on google for the version stated on the oracle apps home page and Firefox browser worked, I havent been able to access the java forms on internet explorer yet. I hope disabling the XSS settings will help.

My bigged problem now is I would like to know what to do to access my oracle apps instance from my laptop. The installation was done on my desktop that had enough hard drive space and memory space, but I would like to be able to access the instance from a laptop, unfortunately mine doesnt meet the memory/space requirement. Is there anything I can do to the laptop to make it connect to the linux instance I installed on my desktop?

Please help.

Make sure your laptop is connected to the same router as your PC.
Simply follow the same procedure as you did to setup Oracle connection from your PC. Your virtual machine is a separate computer for all practical purposes. You can access the virtual machine server the same way from laptop as you do from your PC.
Do an entry in the host file of your laptop
192.168.x.x linux.server
Where 192.168.x.x is the IP address of the virtual machine.
You should now be able to access Oracle through the browser. http://linux.server:8000
Make sure you disable XSS
Java will be installed when you open the Forms based window first time as I have shown in the videos.

Re:Connecting to EBS from windows 11 Years, 8 Months ago
The last video stops just at the point, I think, you would talk about the Java installation. I ran into two problems, using IE 9. When I typed the url: linx.server:8000, I was prompted to update jinitiator: "FRM-92095; Oracle Jinitiator Version too Low. Please install version 1.1.8.2 or higher" R12 does not use jinitiator. So I deleted all my previous versions of Java and typed the url again and was prompted to download the SUN Java plugin. I did and then encountered the forms error: “FRM-92050 failed to connect to Server /forms/servlet -1“ Resolved that error through the above fix: Disable XSS Filter. Hope that can help someone.
