Starting Oracle Services 12 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi,

When i tried to start the services at the application tier, some services gave the status as "150". Tried to start them individually but still the same problem.

Please help me how to resolve this issue.
Services with 150 Status:
adoafmctl.sh
adformsctl.sh
adapcctl.sh

Thanks & Regards

Sunny

First step is look at the log file of each service that is failing. That will give you a clue on what the problem is.
Without looking at the log file it is simply a guessing game.

Step 1 -locate the log file
Step 2- view the log file

When the service ends with status other than 0 it gives you the location of the log file. Try restating the service and you will see log file locations.

e.g.
adstrtal.sh: Exiting with status 8

adstrtal.sh: check the logfile /oracle/prod/R12_prod/inst/apps/PROD_psser1/logs/
appl/admin/log/adstrtal.log for more information ...

Let me know if you need help in viewing the files. You can use cat command for this purpose. Some people use vi editor.

Re:Starting Oracle Services 12 Years ago
As I said in my earlier post you need to be looking into the log file of each service one by one. Status 150 message does not tell you what the core problem is.

Lets take one service at a time. Lets start with adapcctl.sh

First check Apache startup log which is at $LOG_HOME/ appl/ admin/ log/ adapcctl.txt
If no issues exist then check $LOG_HOME/ ora/ 10.1.3/ opmn/ HTTP_Server~1
If no issues exist then check $LOG_HOME/ ora/ 10.1.3/ Apache/ error_log.[number] & access_log.[number] (with latest timestamp)

Lets see if there is any error in the log files.

Could you please have a look at the sequence of the videos posted under Oracle E-Business Suite Installation- INST.? Right now the next video right after video # 16 (Installing Oracle EBS R12) is Video # 17 (Starting Oracle Application Services). I think we should have video "Stopping Oracle Application Services" after "Oracle EBS R12 Installation". After that the next video should be "Scaling down Oracle Application" and then (Starting Oracle Application Services).
Thanks,

Yes you are right. This is how I intended. Somehow the order got mixed up. I have fixed the order. Thank you for pointing this out.

Thanks Hasan,
I don't have any question or issue. I just wanted to say thanks for your efforts. After few ups and down I finally completed my Oracle installation and now able to log in and learn more. I must say this membership and course is really worth taking.

Thanks,
