1- What is your linux network type "Bridge", Host-only, or NAT?
2- Confirm if you have disabled linux firewall
3- Issue ifconfig command on linux and let me know the IP address.
4- Confirm if you have placed the same IP address on your Windows hosts file.

Linux network type is "Bridged Adapter" (i have attached screenshot)
() I disabled firewall
()inet addr:192.168.15.110 Bcast:192.168.15.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
() I have updated the host file the way you have suggested
FYI...i have connected to a Linksys router (wired) and I have Charter cable modem service

Re:Installation on Linux: Can't connect from Windows 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Ok, good. So we know that your network type is fine.
Verify if you are able to see the login page from Linux and then see what you get when you enter this url in window:
http:/192.168.15.110:8000
Do you know get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"? or some other error. (Please upload the screen shot if you see something else).
If you get the first error then that means that the problem is somewhere in the networking. I would change my IP on Linux to something else just to make sure there no IP conflict. For example: 192.168.15.990 Windows hosts file needs to be updated as well.
I would also verify the router settings to make sure router is not blocking one machine to be visible by the other.
Let me know the outcome of the above steps please.

" I would change my IP on Linux to something else just to make sure there no IP conflict. For example: 192.168.15.990" ... how do I change the IP address in Linux?

Just go to the same network setup screen that you visited in order to specify the static IP. This time, change your static IP to something else.

Re:Installation on Linux: Can't connect from Windows 11 Years, 11 Months ago
[Attention: Mir Hasan]

1. I am able to see log in screen from inside Linux
2. When I enter http://192.168.15.110:8000/ in internet explorer, it says “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”
3. I changed the ip address as you have suggested, changed host file in windows to match the new ip address..no luck
4. You said, “I would also verify the router settings to make sure router is not blocking one machine to be visible by the other. “ I am not sure how to do that

I want to mention that, I am not able to access any webpage from linux firefox other than Oracle page which I don’t care about but figured you should know that

Re:Installation on Linux: Can't connect from Windows 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Ok, so what we have here is a linux box that cannot see the internet and the host cannot see the guest as well. This is how NAT network type behaves but you have already confirmed that your network type is Bridged.
I am suspecting the culript to be some setting in the rourter but I am not 100% sure.
In order to eliminate router from the equation lets change the setup to Host-Only. In host-only network the guest is directly connected to the host (not via router).

1- Bring VM down
2- Change network type to Host-Only
3- Bring VM up.
4- Now go to the network tool as root (the one shown in videos, where you put the static IP).
Change the IP back to dynamic. If you are confused about this part, upload the image of the settings, I will tell you what to do. It is pretty straight forward.
Close the network tool.
5- Simply reboot your VM.
6- When VM wakes up run ifconfig command and note down the IP address.
7- Go back to the network tool and put this IP as your static IP.
8- Reboot VM again.
9- Open up your Windows host file as Administrator (as shown in videos).
Change the IP address specified there againt linux.server to this new IP.

That is it. Let me know the results:
1- Can you see the login page from linux?
2- Can you see the login page from Windows?

When I press Start on the Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager, it takes me to a black screen where I have to press OK just below the Do not show the message again. When I do that, a Virtual Box Eroor pops up saying
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Oracle. AMDV is disabled in the BIOS (VERR_SVM_DISABLED). If I click on Details it shows additional info.

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}

So now there are 2 buttons - OK and Copy. OK goes back to the original screen. I dont want to press Copy since I am afraid i might blow something up.
