Historical Rates Table 12 Years ago
Hello All,
Can we end date an accounting flexfield from an historical rates table. If not how can we change the rate from historical rate to Period End Rate for a particular account for translation?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I am not sure if I understood your question correctly.
Lets say I entered a historical rate of x for account combinations y for the month of JAN-12. I dont want the rate x to be effective anymore for JAN-12. I can always delete this record from historical rates table. Now I can enter a new rate for this account.

Thanks for your response.
What if the account combination uses a different rate every month, can we delete that account combination y from the historical rate table?

You can enter historical rates for a combination for a date range (or period). You can enter a new record for each month without deleting the previous one.

Re:Historical Rates Table 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello All,

Thanks for the quick response.

I have a question related to Hassan’s earlier comment, where it said that the account can be deleted from the historical rate table if we are not using the x rate. Hassan, Thanks for your response!! However, my current scenario I have an account in the historical rates table that was never supposed to be there in the first place. This account is supposed to use a different rate every period, and currently we have to manually change the rate every period, and then do the translation. So, will it be ok if I just deleted this specific account from the historical rates table? Will deleting the account impact any transactions? If so, are there any specific steps that must be done prior to deleting the account from the UI screen?

An entry in the historical rate table only impacts future translations. Existing transactions or translations (translated amounts) will not be impacted. If there is an account in this table that is not suppose to be there then delete it for the particular month and rerun the translation.
