Queries on EFT payment (Urgent) 12 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi Hasan,
Couple of questions on EFT payments. Really looking forward to a speedy response since this is very urgent. Many thanks for your help.
Payment Instruction Formats are specified when defining documents for bank accounts.
1. Do we tie a bank document to a specific payment method also (Electronic, Wire, Check etc) or is it tied only to the format?
2. Why is it required to specify a Payment Instruction Format when creating a Payment Process Profile? We already have it on the bank account. What is the difference between the two formats? Does it mean that this Payment Process Profile can only be used with bank accounts that have the same Payment Instruction Format as specified for this Payment Process Profile?
3. When paying a single invoice are we allowed to override the payment method originally selected on the invoice?
4. Can we use any payment method with any payment document while paying a single invoice? Since we select the payment process profile as well, can there be a case where the payment process profile is electronic where as the payment method

Here are few points:
* One bank account can have one more more "payment documents" underneath it.
* Payment document (not the bank account) is married to a Format.
* You also attach a Format to payment profile. Pay Run will produce an output in this format.
* Only those payment profiles are available that are married to the same format as attached to the document chosen.
* You associate invoice with a payment method.
* You also can restrict payment profile to be used with certain payment methods. Only those invoices will be picked up by the pay run that are associated with the payment method permitted under this payment profile.
* Yes you can override the invoice payment method from the payment screen when making a quick or manual payment. By default the invoice payment method will appear on the screen. You can change it if you like to pay the invoice using some other method.
