1) In the tutorial “Entering Values for Value Sets, I did not see Hasan choosing Qualifiers “Yes.Yes” for the “HOE Department” values “01-Finance” and “02-Finance”. Was it intentional or does the system set Qualifiers to “Yes.Yes” by default even if not chosen.
2) I was seeing another small window not shown in the tutorial, when qualifying the “HOE Account” values Account Type. The window’s title is “Flexfield Segment Value”, with a field title as “Context”. This field is a pick list. What is the purpose of that window popping up while trying to choose the Account Type?
I am asking this question because this window did not appear at all in the tutorial video, yet Hasan managed to qualify the Account Type.

Hi Gavrobere,
Here are the answers..
1) System will set the values to 'Yes' and 'Yes' by default if you don't choose them.
2) This is because, 'Flexfield Segment Values' DFF is enabled by default.
If you don't want this DFF window to pop up,Under GL Responsibility..
Navigate to Setup:Financials:Flexfields:Descriptive:Segments
Query for Title : 'Flexfield Segment Values'
Uncheck Freeze Flexfield Definition,Required,Displayed checkboxes.
Freeze this DFF by checking 'Freeze Flexfield Definition' checkbox.
>>Now this DFF should be disabled.

GAVROBERE, When you are entering value 01 Finance, 02 HR etc there is another tab where you enter yes, yes details. Sorry I do not remember tab name and I do not have access to software. I will try to get you the tab name and screen shot in the evening. I am sure u will figure it out.

I did Setup > Financials > Flexfield > Descriptive >Segments.
Application: General Ledger
Title: Flexfield Segment Values
Results: FRM-40301: Query caused no result to be retrieved

To answer your original question, "Yes" and "Yes" was entered for mandatory fields: "Allow Budgeting" and "Allow Posting".
"Allow Budgeting" controls if budgeting is allowed against this value.
"Allow Posting" controls if journal posting is allowed against this value.
