Steps to logout from EBS and Linux 12 Years, 3 Months ago
pls mention the steps which need to be done for proper logout from EBS and Linux.

should need to stop the app/listerner/database? OR just logout from EBS and then logout-shutdown from linux.

also how to login again, means each time we have to start the database, listener and application?

Pls advise.

First you should take a snapshot of your virtual machine while Oracle services are running. This way you can always rollback to the snapshot if any of the service does not start in future.
On day to day basis when you are finished using Oracle and want to turn off the system there are few options you have:
1) Shut down the virtual machine. Next time when you want to use Oracle, start the virtual machine, sign in into Linux and start database services (database and listener), start application services (adstrtal.sh), then login into Oracle from the browser.
2) Take snapshot of virtual machine. Shutdown the virtual machine. Next time when you want to use Oracle, simply start your virtual machine and rollback to the previous snapshot. All services would be running as this was the state when the snapshot was taken. Login into Oracle from the browser.

You take snapshot through virtual machine control panel. Click on your virtual machine in the control panel, and you will see the option of "Snapshot" on the right hand side. Let me know if you need help. I will upload the screen shot.

Cloning the VM procedure looks like this from high level:
1- You copy your virtual machine folder to another one.
2- Rename files in the destination folder.
3- Register a new virtual machine in your VM control panel.
The exact steps could be retrieved from vm forums.
