Installing Linux Packages 12 Years, 6 Months ago
When terminal window pops up (after clicking on Applications, Systems tool and Terminals), I notice the username as follows: [username@localhost ~]$ instead of [username@linux ~]$. How do get to the right username - [username@linux ~]$ in order to get to the next stage of changeing the user to root?

Can you please post the image of your screen or the video number so that I can relate to the context.
You can always change your user to root by using "su" command.

su root
<password>

Thanks.

I went ahead with [username@localhost ~]$ and completed the install. I hope that I won't run into problems down the raod.

Off hand this is looking something minor to me. If your installing is finished successfully then I would not worry about it.
