Error during Accouting Setup in Ledger Options 12 Years, 9 Months ago
I have creatd a secondary ledger and want to link it to a Legal Entity outside US. However, when I select the Territory "India" and enter the fields, I am unable to Apply the legal address. I get an error "The address format for country India does not contain a country segment. The address format used for legal address must contain a country segment." I want to know how do I update an Indian address for the new legal entity and also how do I access the value set containing the addresses shown in the picklist. When I try the option 'Use existing address' it does not show any picklist values. Please assist.

With the release of 12.1.3, Oracle Legal Entity Configurator has adopted the use of HR Address formatting and validation model.
Prior to 12.1.3, the formatting and validation for Legal Addresses were based upon the HZ_LOCATIONS validation from TCA.

\Which version of Oracle Applications are you using?

In 12.1.3 onwards, HR Location Address Descriptive Flexfield controls the address elements presented for a given territory or country. The flexfield also validates that mandatory fields have been entered.

Before creating a Legal Address it is important to make sure that the format specified in the HR Location Address Descriptive Flexfield matches the format desired by your organization.

1)
Responsibility: System Administrator
Navigation: Application > Flexfield > Descriptive >Segments.

2)
Query the Title "Location Address"
Uncheck the checkbox next to "Freeze Flexfield Definition".

3)
In the bottom section, query the desired Country Code (for India in your case).

4)
click the "Segments" button to open the window below.

5)
Review the list to make sure that it is complete and that all of the segments you require for the country exist and are displayed and enabled.

6)
Validation of each address component is controlled either by a Value Set or by the native flexfield validation.
Confirm the Validation is Correct.

7)
If desired you can add a Value Set to be used for validating a specific segment.

8)
With the Location Flexfield confirmed as valid for our country we can now re-freeze the flexfield definition which will recompile the flexfield.

9)
Responsibility: Legal Entity Manager
Navigation: Setup > Create

10)
Create the Legal Address

11)
When setting up a Legal Entity, a Legal Address can be created during the setup flow or an existing Legal Address can be associated with the new Legal Entity.
