Error - City does not exist in HR_US_GEOCODE_CITY 13 Years, 2 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

I am trying to add a legal entity and keying in the information as neede but
encountering a problem with regard to the address. I am using 12.1.3 instance.
When I key in the city it says - City ... does not exist in the value set HR_US
_GEOCODE_CITY. I have tried giving any other city but getting the same problem.

Can you please let me know how to resolve this problem?

Thanks,

Arun

In 12.1.3 address format and Validation Changes were introduced along with Bug 9871990.

12.1.3 onwards Oracle Legal Entity Configurator has adopted HR Address formatting and validation model.

In earlier versions, the formatting and validation were based on HZ_LOCATIONS validation from TCA (stored in HR_LOCATIONS_ALL).

You must be on shared Iinstall for HRMS application. Location information is only available for customers implementing Oracle HRMS.

Before creating a Legal Address make sure that the format specified matches the format desired by your organization.

Update the following Flexfield:
Application: Human Resources
Title: Location Address

Remove the Valueset Validation and make it NOT Required field.

Following fields were updated.
4. City -> HR_US_GEOCODE_CITY
5. State -> HR_US_GEOCODE_STATE
7. County -> HR_US_GEOCODE_COUNTY

After these changes you should be able to create new Legal Entities.

Hello Hasan,

What a fantastic answer? Hats off to you. I absolutely had no idea about these changes. How did you find out this information?
I would be interested to know about your comment on the Metalink(ID 452998.1).

The problem I am facing gets resolved easily now if I stop the validation.

Thank you very much,

Arun

I seek help from metalink.
This document that you referring to seems to be related to 11i (not 12.1.3).
