FSG Format issues 13 Years, 3 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

I have been watching the FSG videos. They are very helpful. One thing that caught my eye was that the
columns are not aligned in the reports shown by you. It seems to me that there are some formatting issues. I hope
I am not jumping the gun here but if not then can you explain why the columns are not aligned
properly and what needs to be done to make sure the columns are aligned and does not
look ungainly. Also I noticed that the department - part of the row is kind of partially
hidden. These two issues seem to be connected. I would be glad to know what they are
and how it can be resolved.

Thanks,

Arun

Hello Hasan,
Instead of finding out your videos I have a taken a snip of a report that I created
in another instance. In this report that there few things that look akward.
1) First Row - the segments that show followed by the ledger Co,dept, sub, product etc -
why do you need those - can that show a little bit better - otherwise can you supress it?
2) The cash Amount - This shows as asterix. I tried increasing the column width to 25.
I also tried column option - included currency and factor as Million - no change happenedumn
3) Please refer to FSGformatting2.jpg. - amounts in the column not aligned to each other
particularly in the case of -negatives
4) Please refer to FSGformatting2.jpg. - You would notice in this snip a peculiar formatting
which I must say I have never seen before. There are some negatives which are in a bracket
and some are shown as negatives. What happened here and how this can be resolved?

Thanks,

Arun

1)
I thought I covered hiding the segments in Row Order videos.
Let me know if that is not the case.

2)
Verify that the format is entered correctly.
For example 9,999.99 or 9,999,999.99.
Your format mask may not be large enough.
Verify that the width of the column (the distance between the
position number of this column and the position number of the next
column) is large enough for the amount to print.
You may have to adjust the widths of these columns by changing the
position numbers through Columns window or directly from Builder Set window.

3)
Make sure the profile options Currency:Positive Format and
Currency:Negative Format have values (at Site level).
Valid values for Currency:Negative Format are (XXX), , -XXX or XXX-.
Valid values for Currency Positive Format are XXX, +XXX or XXX+.

4)
That could be because of different format masks used in Row Sets.
