Before I created Accounting for a transaction, I made sure that the GL Date for the invoice (01-JAN-2010) is opened Payables as well as in GL.

I selected the invoice, clicked on more Actions, checked Create Accounting checkbox with Draft mode. I received the following Error Message:

[Online Accounting could not be created for this transaction. Please, submit the Create Accounting concurrent program with the Request parameter set to Detail to determine the problem.]

I tried to create Accounting for payments and encountered the same problem with the same error message.
Is there any setting I need to do Oracle Payables or in Oracle GL, or is it a defect in the software?

Did you submit the concurrent programs as requested ?
It should tell you when you submitt the concurrent program (see log/out) to see the problem.
A lot of times, it is related to an invalid/disabled account.
Run the concurrent program. Let me know the result.

Charlie is right. You need to run the concurrent request to find out what the problem is. Welcome to R12. This is neither a setup issue nor a defect. Mostly this happens when corresponding GL period is closed.

Same Issue with me. I have followed step by step the instructions and have got the same error message. Periods are open in GL and in Payables Accounting. I have run the Create Account concurrent program and it does not specify something that may clarify what´s wrong.
I guess that If I had followed up the tutorials I should get it running as the video shows.

Russel, did you get this error while creating online accounting? If yes then obviously something is wrong. You can figure out what is wrong by submitting Creating Accounting program. Open the output of the program and see what the problem is. If the output is in XML (due to a defect in 12.1.1) use the workaround in this video:

The PDF output will give you the error.

1 OPENING PERIOD IN GL AND IN ALL LEDGER BECAUSE I HAVE STILL OTHER LEDGER REPORTING.
2 ENTERED DAILY RATE
