Try changing the MAC address of your guest machine in VMWare and see if that fixes the problem.

How do we install Oracle R12 on external drive? Do we follow the same steps in the tutorials or need to make some changes? I bought a new machine but it does not have enough resources. However, my external drive have about 500GB which should be enough for me. I wanted to install the apps on my external drive so i can be able to run the R12 Apps from my laptop or desktop. Thanks

In the video I have mentioned 150GB. But newer releases takes up more space. Sorry I have not fixed the video yet. Very soon I will be making new videos to show installation of Oracle Applications on Windows 7 (VMWare). In the mean time please see Oracle Installation guide that comes with your downloaded release to find out the exact space requirement. The Oracle documentation CD is available for download from the same location where you downloaded rest of the file from.

The procedure is the same. Your problems might be related to some other issues.
