Most likely your opmn service is not starting. That is why services that are dependent on opmn are not starting as well.
We need to look into the log file for opmn to find out what is causing the issue:
/home/Oracle/PROD/inst/apps/PROD_linux/logs/appl/admin/log/adopmnctl.txt

Re:installation of oracle ebusiness suite 10 Years, 9 Months ago
The problem most likely has to be with the IP address. Please verify if the last line in your /etc/hosts file is the following:

127.0.0.1 linux.server

You can login as root to view the hosts file.

su root
cat /etc/hosts

Also please verify when you issue hostname command you should see linux.server

Before we move forward we must verify the above two points.

sorry I didn't understand your answer before
so you are asking me to edit the last line of the host file
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6x
Is it the above line should I replace it with what you advised or just add at the end of the line.

how do I edit the host edit I used vim but I am not able to do any thing. Please advise

Re:installation of oracle ebusiness suite 10 Years, 9 Months ago
Open the file using "gedit" editor.
su root
<password>
vi /etc/hosts
Now go to the very end
Insert this line at the end:
127.0.0.1 linux.server linux
Save the work.

Re:installation of oracle ebusiness suite 10 Years, 9 Months ago
Sorry my fault. In my instructions I entered "vi" instead of "gedit". vi and gedit are two different editors.

su root
<password>
gedit /etc/hosts
Control + S (to save the file).
Control + Q (to quite).
Here are gedit short cuts: https://wiki.gnome.org/Gedit/KeyboardShortcuts

Re:installation of oracle ebusiness suite 10 Years, 8 Months ago
Now the IP address issue should not be in the way. The hostname command should display: linux.server

The next common cause of this error is the missing Linux packages. You were suppose to install the two packages. Were both of them installed?

Please use this command to verify if the packages were installed:

rpm -q <package name>

Please let me know. Thanks.

Re:installation of oracle ebusiness suite 10 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi Hassan
As advised I used the command to verify whether the package is installed but I get the below error message
[Oracle@linux ~]$ rpm -q <openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386>
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
[Oracle@linux ~]$ su root
Password:
su: incorrect password
[Oracle@linux ~]$ su root
Password:
[root@linux Oracle]# rpm -q<openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386>
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
[root@linux Oracle]# rpm -q <package>
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
[root@linux Oracle]#

from what directory I should use the command from the root directory or home directory.
the following are the two Linux packages I downloaded
openmotif 21-2.1.30-8.i386
unzip 5.50-7.i386.rpm

so I use the command
rpm -q <package name> but this is giving syntax error

please advise
thanks

Sorry for the late reply.
You should not be putting the less than and greater than sign. They were there in my syntax to indicate that the text needs to be replaced.

See the usage of rpm command here: http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Unix/Linux/LINUX_RPMCommands.shtml

e.g.
rpm -q openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386

Hi Hassan

I verified whether the Linux packages are installed I got the following message
[Oracle@linux ~]$ rpm -q openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386
openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386

[Oracle@linux ~]$ rpm -q unzip 5.50-7.i386.rpm

unzip-5.50-7.i386
package 5.50-7.i386.rpm is not installed
[Oracle@linux ~]$ ^C
