Column Set 13 Years, 3 Months ago
|
|
Hello Hasan,
I was going through FSG related video courses. I have learnt a lot from them.
You mentioned in the column set video course and the Balance sheet FSG creation Video
as well that there are easier ways to create column set - my guess would be that you are refering
to the use of seeded column set already there. I think may be you missed showing that part.
Can you please add that? That would really help a lot. That would help us learn how
best to utilise the seeded Column set and create column set from the seeded ones by
copying it and then modifying it.
Thanks,
Arun

I have to check the videos, but my guess is by easier way I must be referring to the use of Column Set Builder. You can create column sets using the Builder or directly using the column set screen. Through the builder you can create it easily.
Using the seeded columns set is as easy as assigning it to your FSG report. I recommend that you build the column set from scratch after finding out the client's requirements. It is easier that way. Feel free to explore the seeded ones. I always have build my own sets.

Hello Hasan,
Good answer. I needed to know that. Two questions - the way to use the seeded ones would be to just do a autocopy and rename them and modify them after to suit the client needs - is this correct? How do you use the 180 charachter coulmn and when?
Thanks,
Arun

You can use the seeded column sets directly as well without first copying and renaming. Sorry I did not understand your second question. What is the context of 180 character column?

If you have to use Column Set Builder to create Seeded column set, then they should normally be called seeded column set, as they are not already there, without any effort. This is part of the questions Arun was asking. In short, there is nothing as seeded column set, in FSG.

Seeded column sets are those that come with the system. The ones you create at custom column sets.
