Installing Oracle Packages 11 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi Hassan,

I am currently installing R12 again, but I am getting stuck a particular point. I have download Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.2.0.0.0 and have installed this with no issues (as per the tutorial). When I come to install the packages I cant see what they are on the video as it is hard to see what you are typing on the screen.
Can you please advise what these are by replying in this message ?
The other point I have noted when looking in the Linux packages they all seem to be i686 instead of i386 ? is this an issue ?
If you could kindly help that would be great as I would like to get on with the tutorials again.

Kind regards
Bal

I always try to pronounce what I am typing so that it is easy to follow for the listener.
Following packages are included in the zip file:
openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386
unzip-5.50-7.i386.rpm
Both of them are i386

Hi Hassan,

Thanks for the update this has now worked. It might be worth noting when downloading Linux it shows i686 files when browsing the content of the CD and not i386 files, therefor was confusing when your tutorial says install these packages above. I thought it might cause an issue but it did not. Thanks keep up the good work. Bal
