after scaling down oracle service and configuring windows client when i try to connect with linux server. i first start data base then data base listener they both start successfully with status 0 but when i start application tier with command adstrtal.sh then few service give status existing with 150 and adstrtal.sh exixting status with 4.... and i am unable to connect with linux server...please advise me solution

Sometimes few services like apache, show status 150 because system is unable to create "state" file for some reason. State file is a temporary file that is created to store the state of the service. Usually this problem is fixed by itself even though the status was appeared as 150 on the startup. To be on the safe side you can stop application server services and restart them. This will most likely solve the 150 issue. But more importantly check to see if you have added your server name (linux.server) in secure websites in your IE browser. It could be the security issue that is preventing you to connect to Oracle, not the status 150. Go to IE->Tools>-Internet Options->Security->Local Intranet->Sites->Advanced. Now add the name of the server hosting Oracle. Try connecting to Oracle again.
