Dear Mr HAsan,
Can you please clarify about how we would assign single operating unit to multiple legal entities.

Hello Venkat,

I am not 100% sure but I think you would need to use the Legal Entity configurator to achieve that.
Thanks,

Arun

Please note that R12 does not have a hard relationship between OU and LE like 11i. You associate OU with Ledger and you associate LE with Ledger as well.
Here is an example:
You create a ledger LEDGER1.
You create 3 LEs, LE1, LE2, and LE3 within this ledger represented by 3 balancing segment values (BSV): 01,02, and 03.
You create an operating unit OU1 and attached it to the ledger LEDGER1.
This OU1 will be serving three LEs: LE1, LE2, LE3.
I hope that answers your question.

but Mr. Hasan, when we define OU we enter context legal entity and BG, is not that a direct relationship between LE and OU. and I am confused how we assign OU to a ledger?

When you define OU we specify "default" legal context.
Also while defining OU you specify the ledger and hence you marry your OU with a ledger.
Please take a look at the form where you create OU (In Accounting Setups). That will clarify the relationships between OU, LE, and the ledger.
