GL System Profile 14 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi Hasan,
To access newly created Ledger, you have indicated to use the Sytem Profile : Gl Data Access Set.
I noticed there is a system profile by name "GL Ledger Name". Why not use this??
Could you clarify please.

Thanks,
Mini

In release R12, GL: DATA ACCESS SET profile option dictates which ledger you will see when you login using a particular GL responsibility.
A data access set may contain one or more ledgers and hence you could be given access to more than one ledgers through a single responsibility. This is a new feature of R12.
Your GL responsibility will work just fine even if you leave GL LEDGER NAME empty.
When you put a value in GL LEDGER NAME field then it is automatically defaulted to DATA ACCESS SET field as well. This is not true the other way around though.
GL LEDGER NAME profile option plays an important role in subledger implementations. It dictates the target ledger (where the data should be sent to).
