My ledger calendar was not validating as My Last period was like 01-DEC-10 to 31-DEC-10 and adjusting period like 31-DEC-10 to 31-DEC-10. It successfully validated when I changed last period as 01-DEC-10 to 30-DEC-10 . I woudl lke to know that why I could not set last period as 10-DEC-10 tp 31-DEC-10 and then adjusting as 31-DEC-10 to 31-DEC-10.

Yes you can do that. You can have the last period as 01-DEC-10 - 31-DEC-10 and adjustment period as 31-DEC-10 - 31-DEC-10. Make sure in your caledar you have marked the adjustment period as "adjustment". Only then system will let you enter overlapping dates. Only adjustment periods could overlap. Also make sure you are using 13 period calendar.
