Why is it possible to apply a hold on an invoice, so that it cannot not been paid, and yet we can create accounting even fully (transfer to GL tables). What if managers decide that the invoices on hold need to be adjusted or cancelled (knowing accounting has already been created)? This means we will have to create a reverse accounting entries. I am thinking that the logic would be that once a hold is placed on an invoice, it shouldn’t be possible to create account on that invoice.

Once an invoice is entered, an expense is incurred. Ideally, the expense should be displayed in the financial reports.

Yes.
The only exception is when there is a hold that lets you create accounting as I have mentioned in the video.

Do you mean an exception where accounting is created on an Invalidated Invoice on Hold at Supplier Site level ONLY. Very confusing about the concept of Invoice Validation in general! This is Oracle Inc's confusing us!

Exception is where accounting could be created by putting a manual hold on invoices that allows accounting to be created.
Go to define holds and releases window. There is an option that says allow create accounting (for the particular hold). This is covered in the videos.
