Are you sure you are typing http://linux.server:8000 and not http://linux.server8000/.

Enter this command from DOS prompt of host PC:

ping linux.server

and see if the command brings back result.

If the ping fails then you have network issues. Otherwise your services are down.

Sorry for the late reply. On Windows client you can use a port scanner software to see if port 9000 is available at your Linux guest (VM) or not.

The port should not be blocked. It should be open.
Also more importantly see if forms server is running.
