FSG Report for END USERS‏ 15 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi Hasan,

I am crystal clear about FSG report. The way you explained were really amazing.

I am not sure about the end user point of view.
How the end user will see the report that relevant to them. It seems they also can see all the report based on request id.

Pls clarify me.

Thanks, Raghu.K

I am not sure if I understood your question completely. Feel free to ask follow up questions.

This is how it goes:

1) During the project implementation functional consultants will design important FSG reports including Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
2) End users would be able to run these reports through Reports->Financials screen.
3) Typically, during the implementation functional consultant would also train super users in creating FSG reports.
4) Super users will create their own FSG reports with guidance from consultants (during the training sessions or even after that).
5) Functional consultants leave the project; super users take the ownership of FSG maintenance.
6) Definition Access security must be used if certain FSG components including row sets, column sets, and even reports need to be hidden from certain group of users. You can control who can use, modify or view FSGs components using Definition Access security.

If the end-user is not a super user, But he has row and column set access privilege. So does he able to see all the balances using FSG or there is any restriction.

First of all Oracle does not know who is a super user and who is a non-super user. The roles assigned to a user will dictate if he should be called a super-user or not.

You can control who can run an FSG report using Definition Access Set.
When you run an FSG report whether you will see data in it or not, or what data will you see,
depends on it:
1) Display Sets associated with FSG report
2) Ledger Names hardcoded in the row sets or column sets
3) Security Rules assigned to your responsibility
4) Data Access Sets assigned to your responsibility
