Problem with Oracle Apps Installation 13 Years, 10 Months ago
I have followed all the process in installing the Oracle E-Business Suite including installing the VmWare.

I added the CD/DVD Drive to my virtual machine and then select Use ISO Image per the video lectures. Prior to using the first ISO file, I extracted the Linux files and then select the disk 1. The DVD-Rom was then pointed to the Linux CD1.

Next, I then launched the Installation of the Linux Enterprise and was able to map the ISO image to Disc 1

The problem began when it asked me to insert Enterprise Linux Disc 2; I followed the same instruction and connected it to the ISO Image disc 2. My system began to shutdown and could not go any further. I have tried to reboot my system many times but to no avail.

What may be causing this problem? Secondly, how do I uninstall the virtual machine from my windows system (Windows Vista) so that I can try the installation from scratch to see if it will resolve the problem?
Any suggestions to help me resolve this problem will be much appreciated.
I have attached some screen shots of the error as it appears on my virtual machine

Hi Yoo Pesky,
Could you attach the file under this Thread (Problem with Oracle Apps Installation), instead of creating another Thread (Error Msg) for the same problem? This would be helpful to both yourself and anyone trying to provide an answer. Thank you.

Simply delete/remove the virtual machine from the VMWare control panel. Do not uninstall VMWare.
Recreate the virtual machine and see if that fixes the problem.
Also try re-downloading Linux to rule out file corruption.

Hi Yoo Pesky,
I would like to add the following:
Giving limited system resources you may have, in terms of Hard Disk space and the RAM, I would recommend that you do not install two different Virtual Machines. Just create only one. In the event that you do create more than one, ensure that only one of them is turned on at a time.
In your attached file, I could see you have created two VM. I am not sure if this has been part of the problem you have experienced.
Also, do not allow your VM idle for long than necessary, so that it does not time out.
Cheers, Gavrobere

Thanks i tried your suggestion and it worked. I still have problems after running the rapidwiz.

I am having problems with my hard disk space when installing rapidwiz. The capacity for my host machine is 288GB. I had about 220GB remaining before I started installing the Oracle Apps. I allocated 170GB to the VM Ware. So, I am not sure why I am having disk issues.
I thought by assigning 170GB instead of 150GB, I would have more space. I have deleted Oracle12.iso image and any other unnecessary file from my computer to free more space but the problem remains.

How do I go about deleting or freeing more space on my VmWare and Linux machine to alleviate the disk space problem rather than installing VmWare from scratch? I have tried to increase my VmWare machine disk capacity but without any luck. Below are some of the error message and screen shots from my machine

Apologies for late reply.
Looks like the size of Oracle application has been increased in the release that you have downloaded. Please look at the installation guide for that version and find out exact space requirements. This might be slightly more than what I have stated in my videos.
If that is the case then you need to recreate your VM with bigger hard disk and reinstall linux and recopy the stage and do the remaining steps ..
